Eric Lorens, DVM

Dr. Eric Lorens has owned the Pet Clinic of Rocky Mount since 2003.  He graduated from The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 1992 moved back to his childhood home in Reston, VA.  He worked for 11 years in small animal veterinary hospitals and emergency clinics in northern Virginia. He and his wife Kathy missed Southwest Virginia from their time in Blacksburg and were excited when an opportunity became available to become the new practice owners of the Pet Clinic in Rocky Mount.
Dr. Lorens enjoys developing a personal relationship with his clients and patients.  He has a particularly strong interest in surgery and has helped many patients over the years with the wide range of surgical services that he is able to offer.  He also works closely with local animal rescue groups and enjoys being able to see what a difference good care makes for these neediest patients.  Dr. Lorens sees primarily dogs and cats but has seen quite a variety of patients over his career including ferrets, birds, rabbits, rats, snakes, sugar gliders, lizards, goats, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and many types of wildlife.

Danielle Reece, DVM

Dr. Reece received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2015.

Kelly Cockram, DVM

A native of southwest Virginia,  Dr. Cockram graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Dacia Oprisanu, DVM

Graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Practiced in Texas and Florida before moving to Virginia in 2017. 

Daniela Hilton, LVT

Daniela has been working for the Pet Clinic since 1998. She received her veterinary technician education at Becker College in MA and has worked in several small animal and emergency clinics in her career. Danielle has a caring heart and always puts her animal patients first.

Sara Vaassen, LVT

Sara received her Veterinary Technician degree from Blue Ridge Community College in 2009 and has been working at the Pet Clinic ever since. Sara is a native of Franklin County and greatly enjoys working with people and their pets.




Ta’quina started working with us in May 2018.  You may recognize her because she previously worked at Kroger and Martinsville Henry County SPCA.  Ta’Quina enjoys entertaining us with her singing and dancing.  She enjoys spending her time off with her children and pets.







Logan started with us in 2017.  Sometimes things get crazy and we can always depend on Logan to keep us laughing .  He has an obvious love of animals of all kinds.  Logan enjoys skateboarding and spending time with his rescued “fur kids” on his time off. 















Kayla has worked at the clinic since August of 2015. She started caring for the boarders as a kennel assistant quickly moving her way up to vet assistant and any position we need her in.  She has love of these fur babies like no other.  Kayla’s fun personality makes our days short.  She enjoys spending time with her family and pets whenever possible!







Jessica has worked with us since 2021 . She has an amazing passion for these fur babies!  Jessica has some previous experience working with animals and it has helped her become part of our team quickly.  Jessica enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and fur kids !







Beth started working with us in July 2018 .  She started out in the kennel and her curiosity and fast learning skills moved her quickly into an assistant position.  Beth has an amazing heart and treats everyone with kindness!   She enjoys shopping and spending time with family and friends on her time off!





Anastasia started with us in May of 2021.  She has worked with animals prior  to coming to us, the most recent was at grooming /urban tails.  She is a wonderful lady, who comforts these babies when they are here for a visit.  When she isn’t working , she enjoys family time and gardening with her gentle giant dogs and cats.












Angela started with us in October of 2019.  You may recognize her from the martinsville Henry CountySPCA.  Angela always brings a smile to your face because of her kind , quiet ways.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and her fur kids.





Cristina started with us in May 2021 after working at Little Ceasars.  Her love of animals and eagerness to learn brought her to our clinic.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing video games and spending time with her pets.









Krista started in the kennel in August 2015.  She has gained a lot of experience and knowledge and has moved her way into and assistant / kennel manager position.  Krista’s love for animals is very obvious when you get to chat with her.  She enjoys going to the lake and spending time with family, friends, and fur kids any chance she gets !








Tammy has been working with us since May 2017. She previously worked at Kings Mountain Animal Hospital and Franklin County Animal Hospital before joining our work family.  Tammy has a wonderful sense of humor and makes all of us giggle.  She enjoys swimmming, outdoor activities and spending time with her husband Jesse and cat “Bud.”







Amy started in Martinsville in August 2021. Amy likes to laugh and be funny when given the chance. She worked at Soney Creek Veterinary Hospital in N for many years prior to joining our work family. Amy enjoys spending time with family and pets during her time off. 





Alycia has been working with us since August 2020.  Previously she worked at Kings Mountain Animal Hospital.  On her time off she enjoys doing diamond art, motorcross, going to the mountains and beach.









Stella has been part of our work family since 2016.  She always has a smile on her face and is ready to help !   Stella enjoys spending time with her family fishing, walking, and a many outdoor activity!
